Where is the snow? Or, OH WoW!

GAAAAAAAAAA! WHERE IS THE SNOW!

36 inches of new snow. 20 inches of new snow. 24 inches of new snow. IN FREEKING COLORADO!

Why am I making noises like a frustrated, caged tiger? Not because the avalanche danger is too high, not because the mountains around us are unbelievable but because we have traveled over 2000 miles to ski the legendary powder of Valdez, Alaska and our home state of Colorado is getting hammered by a blast of cold air and snow FROM THE ARCTIC.

If you haven’t looked at a map yet, we are so close to the Arctic Circle we could be there in just a few hours. Maybe we forgot to send a change of delivery to the snow gods. Then late last night we took Nisa out to pee one last time and were treated to this:

We would never have seen this if it was snowing. WoW.
